343 Industries announced crossplay and input-based matchmaking for the collection, and press guides now say it supports play between Steam, the Microsoft Store version and Xbox. Crossplay is available in multiplayer, Firefight and Forge, while in the campaigns it only covers Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST. Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S players also play together.
