Playing PAYDAY 3 with friends across platforms
PAYDAY 3 is a four-player heist shooter in which your crew plans a job, breaks in, deals with security and escapes with the loot. It is built for groups, so the real question is not whether the game is fun alone but whether all your friends can join. That is where crossplay matters.
According to press coverage that cites the developer, PAYDAY 3 supports crossplay between PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and all platforms share the same matchmaking pool. The game also supports cross-progression, so your progress can follow you when you link your accounts. When you start the game for the first time it asks if you want crossplay on.
Before a heist night, make sure everyone has installed the latest update, accepted the crossplay prompt and added each other as friends inside the game. A mixed crew works best when one player hosts the lobby and shares an invite; if someone cannot join, check the crossplay setting first and then the game version.
